The family-run Tyrolean concern, Lindner, the only entirely Austrian-owned tractor manufacturer, enjoyed a year of successful development in 2011. "Our Geotrac series was once more Austria's best-selling range in 2011“, said the firm's chief, Hermann Lindner. "The best-selling tractor in Austria last year was the Geotrac 64, followed by the Geotrac 84 in fifth place and the Geotrac 74 in seventh position.“ In the market for standard tractors, Lindner maintained third place in 2011 with a market share of 13 per cent, according to the statistics of new registrations. Within the two provinces of Tyrol and Salzburg, Lindner is the market leader for standard tractors.
Lindner scores in exporting
In foreign markets, leading innovator Lindner also experienced marked growth: "New registrations in Germany rose by 26 per cent to 270 vehicles, while there were also increases in Switzerland and France, where the Geotrac Series 4, in the over 100 hp class, met with especially strong demand“, summarised Hermann Lindner. Last year, exports grew from 40 to 44 per cent of output: "That is the highest export rate in our company's history."
Optimistic start for the new year
The outlook for the first half year of 2012 is looking very positive: "Heavy snowfall during the last few weeks has boosted tourism and the need for winter services. This strengthens the municipal sector, as well as boosting the operations of part-time farmers and professional tractor firms."
In addition, prices for both timber and milk are at a healthy level. Said Lindner: "Future development is also focussed on vehicles for mountainside and grassland businesses, landscape management with forestry and field operations, as well as year-round municipal activities."
