Kundl – Balancing the right power take-off revs and a sensitive gas-pedal foot: those are the secrets of success of the 2010 Lindner champion fuel-saver, Flurin Zinsli from Switzerland. Mr Zinsli was selected as winner during the autumn factory exhibition of the Tyrolean agricultural machinery specialist in Kundl, out of all the participants who had logged at least 150 operating hours in the Lindner Online Community.
The Swiss winner achieved an average consumption of 4.7 litres on his Geotrac 93 over 241 hours of operation. As main prize winner, Mr Zinsli can look forward to a trip to England for two people, offered by the engine manufacturer, Perkins
The second prize, a voucher for 2,000 Euros worth of fuel, went to Josef Pöckl from Kematen in Upper Austria. Ernst Cech from Allentsteig in Lower Austria received the third prize, a fuel voucher to the value of 1,000 Euro.
Second event
Lindner's fuel-saving championship was taking place this year for the second time. "Through this competition we want to show that, in addition to applying modern technology, carefully planned methods also make an important contribution to reducing fuel consumption", said the head of the company, Hermann Lindner.
Participants can easily register for the Online community using their Lindner-Advantage Card. Then they must log their activities and consumption covering at least 150 operating hours. The consumption rates of all championship participants are constantly shown on the www.lindner-traktoren.at website as rankings.
Efficiency is the watchword
This year, the leading Austrian innovator, which is 100 per cent family-owned, launched its new efficient power progam (epp). Through this program, Lindner wants to continuously optimize the efficiency and consumption of its vehicles. It covers everything from the motor power to the hydraulics and lighting systems, by way of the gearbox technology.
